These knife rests in resin are unique pieces of art designed by Sarah Woodhouse for the first edition of Porte-Couteaux Sensibles. They add a dash of charm while safeguarding your tablecloth from culinary chaos.

Fond of this forgotten element of the table that is the knife-rest, Sarah wanted to give free rein to the imagination and know-how of these artists, so that they take over this slightly obsolete object and offer it a new recognition.

Sarah graduated from ESAD Valence in 2018 with a master’s degree in graphic design, her degree focused on the signs and superstitions we associate with everyday inert objects. She revolves around the notion of fetishes, grigris, and observes the power we grant them over our existences. It is while settling thereafter in Marseille that she discovered by chance the resin and started to play with it to freeze portraits of our personal interiors.
